Amachan Location Tour : Having lunch at Kosode Ama Center

Kosode Ama Center

After I looked around Kosode Coast Fishing Port. I stopped at Kosode Ama Center for a short break. This is place where Amachan’s Ama Cafe was modeled after.

Kosode Ama Center

Kosode Ama Center is rebuilt from the old building which was destroyed by Tsunami in 2011. The construction finished in 2014. The new building was officially opened in Spring 2015.

Kosode Ama Center - 1st floor

The new building has 3 floor and an observation deck on the top. I skip the first floor where is souvenirs shop to the second floor.

Kosode Ama Center - 2nd floor

The 2nd floor is exhibiton of Ama divers. There were a mannequin in Ama uniform and equipment and collections of Ama photos including Amachan filming photos.

Shikishi boards with famous people’s signatures were also shown here. The ones I know are Nounen Rena (Amachan’s Heroine Aki actress), members of AKB48, Babyraids (Group who sings Amachan’s Koyomi no Ue de ha December.) and Kuji local idol “Ama Club”.

Kosode 2D painting were hanged on the opposite side.

Kosode Ama Center - Ama Cafe

The 3rd floor is the real Ama Cafe. I think the design of light sign is from the drama’s design.

The food here weren’t expensive but there weren’t many dishes you can choose such as riceball, mamebu soup, sea urchin fried rice and the famous fresh sea urchin rice bowl (Nama Unidon in Japanese). Although I ate a similar sea urchin bento in the morning. I had to eat this famous dish.

At the time I ordered the rice bowl. A café auntie told customers had to wait for a long time since sea urchins are out of stock. Those who didn’t want to wait can buy ready to eat sea urchin fried rice. Because I did my things to be here, I could wait a little longer for must eat dish.

I waited at the table for a while. Finally the auntie brought me a set of fresh sea urchin rice bowl.
