Japan Trip 3 : Lunch at Umegaoka Sushi no Midori Shibuya

Umegaoka Sushi no MIDORI Shibuya

If you are asking about the famous sushi restaurant in Tokyo, one of them must be Sushi Midori or Umegaoka Sushi no Midori which is famous for fresh ingredients and good value.

Crossing at Shibuya Mark City

The branch I visited is Shibuya branch where is on the 4th floor of Shibuya Mark City.

The different from the last time I visited is the restaurant installed the computer for handing the queue card instead of its staff. The computer will ask numbers of adults, numbers of children and seat preference. (Table or counter seats.)

If you want to have the dinner here, you should come earlier since the shop may not accept more visitors. I went to here after Ebichu concert on 8:30 PM and found the computer was turned off.

Then I sat on the seat which the shop prepared. I waited for about an hour on that day before getting the seat.

If you come alone or with other person, you mostly get the counter seats where you can see the chefs making your dishes.

When I sat on the seat a staff served me a hot towel and a cup of hot green tea first.

In the past I ordered Gokujo Makuro Tsukishi set which contains all kind of tuna sushi pieces. But this time I want to eat more kinds of sushi. So I order Ita-san Omakase Nigiri set of Chef’s recommend set.

As usual you will get a chawanmushi for order the large set menu. This time I also got a mini crab paste salad as the part of Chef’s Recommended set. It looks normal but it’s delicious from the real crab meat.

Then the main dish contains 14 pieces of sushi was served. Pieces on the first row are otoro, tai, chutoro, ark clam and scallop. Second row are whitebait, salmon roe, sea urchin, tamakoyaki, botan shrimp, fried kelp and snow crab leg. The last row are anago and tuna and green onion.

The taste was good as earlier. I think because the ingredients were fresh and their temperature were not too cold or too warm. The pieces I really like is all tuna, botan shrimp and snow crab leg.

I believe the restaurants change the ingredient in miso soup often. Because each time I visited I never have the same miso soup. This time I got a seaweed one.

Since I want more tuna. I order a toro akami and also tried out a salmon. Tuna is good as always. Salmon is better than I thought.  It wasn’t too dry or had a lot of fat like the one I eat in my country.

Finally the dessert was served. On that day I got a small custard pudding. Its sweet really helped my tongue which tasted a lot of raw fish.

Muji Shibuya Seibu

After finished my lunch. I went to see some discounted clothes in Muji Shibuya Seibu branch. Too bad I couldn’t find the one in my size. So I buy a few small items only.

Next time I will write about NHK Studio Park where is the one of the attraction in Shibuya. Please look forward to it.
