I got an invitation to the PlayStation 3 Thailand official launch event from Sony Thai. So I went to see what Sony wants to present to the gamer in Thailand. Let’s take a look !
I take the report I wrote for my other technology and gadget blog and re-edit it for international visitors. So you won’t see any boring ceremony photos but if you can read Thai, you can read the full report here.
EA booth by Saluzi. They gave away the C&C Red Alert 3 limited gift set for people who buy the first PS3 in the event. Saluzi is the company who used to be the product distributor for EA Thailand but after EA Thailand was shut down. They look after all of EA games in Thailand.
I went to the event earlier. PR team haven’t finished preparing the stage yet.
Sony brought some PS3 consoles with their hit titles for you to try them out. If you still weren’t interested. Sony also prepared maid-san to persuade you.
Sony also did the exhibition call “Sony HD world” along side with the PS3 launch event. They brought almost product from their company such as Bravia, VAIO, CyberShot, Alpha etc. and show how they work together to give you the experience of high definition technology.
Time for launch ceremony. Boss from Sony Thai and SCEH gave the opening speech.
Nagate-san who is the Sony Thai consumer product director gave the information about PS3 slim.
This is the information about the PS3 console, accessories and software.

Sony introduced 5 game titles. These are Little Big Planet, Uncharted 1 & 2, Infamous, Kill Zone 2 and PIXEL JUNK. Sony also promised to bring some hit titles like Final Fantasy XIII for Thai gamer. There are EA games from Saluzi too.

The first PS3 acessories which were introduced were DUALSHOCK 3 and Wireless Keypad. Their prices were 2,090 Thai Baht each.
Sony also released the special limited bundle pack with contain an additional DUALSHOCK 3, a game soft ware chosen from LBP the best, FIFA 10 and NFS: Shift, T-shirt and LBP gift set. This bundle cost 17,990 Thai Baht.
Tell the truth. Many people complain about the price of PS3. It’s more expensive than the grey market one but you get an official consoles warranty for 15 month. After the console are out of warranty. You can send it to Sony Thai for repairing. I thought that it’s a good deal.
Finished boring things. Let’s see something more interesting. It’s cosplayer and maid photographs from the event. Hope you enjoy it.
The last picture was shot by Sony Alpha A850 with Carl Zeiss 24 – 70 F2.8 len. I love it.
Looking for hard to find PS3 games and accessories. You can try to find them at Play-Asia. They have a lot of games and accessories for PS3 stocked.

I was just wondering is the online play in thailand without any lag?
And any special feature in the psn network for thailand region users?
@liz
Although we have our own PSN but the servers are in Hong Kong.
All features are the same as other Asia PSN except Thai PSN has less games but it has the special promotion on our national seaseon such as Songkran festival and trophies collector contest.
