Last week I went to PLAY Meeting & Cosplay which is the new console game magazine introduction event. It’s  play magazine Thai Edition. It’s published by Future Gamer. This magazine is replaced the EGM Thai Edition which is the magazine owner stop publishing. So the FG team  bought publishing right from play magazine to publish it in Thai.

The event took place on June 14th at Akiba Kiss  that is the most famous maid kissa in Thailand. The shop is on 7th floor of Central World Plaza.

There was the time before the event would begin so I have lunch at MOS Burger.

I walked around Central World Plaza until 13.00 PM that is the time the event begin. I went to Akiba Kiss where is the event took place. After I registered at the table in front of the maid kissa. The staff gave me the vol.1 of play magazine and the lottery ticket. There were the sweepstakes after the magazine introduction.

Cosplayers had just arrived. The photographers prepared their cameras. Almost cameras they used today are DSLR.

Activities in the event began with Maid Battle which is playing some casual games with the maid form Akiba Kiss. Normally you must pay to play. If you can win her, you can take a photo with her. Since this is special event. You don’t have to pay. There is the MC from GSQUARE channel who reported the game result each rounds.

The first game they played is idol style dance game. (I don’t know its name. If you know, please tell me in the comment.)

Because all challengers were defeated by maid. They changed the game to tennis from Wii Sports instead. It seemed that maid-san has hard time with it.

Challengers began to win. Winner got the Dragon Quest slime key ring.

Next the magazine staffs introduced the magazine and challenged visitors to fight them in Street Fighter IV. The visitor who wins the staff will get Street Fighter IV OVA. There were 9 rounds and visitors only won 2 rounds. The staff from other console game magazine MEGA also joined the fight. Because it’s very crowd, so no photo for this activity.

After finished playing Street Fighter. The sweepstakes are begun. There are 3 sweepstakes. One for visitors who know the event from each gaming websites.The prizes for each websites aren’t the same. One for all visitors and the last one for visitors who subscribe the magazine in the event.

Luckily I won 2 sweepstakes and below picture is the prizes I got. I didn’t subscribe the magazine so I couldn’t participate in the last sweepstake that the prize is Nintendo DS Lite.

Too bad I don’t have NDSL. Some folks in the event suggested me to buy NDSL or win the last sweepstake so I can use these things.

My thought of the event

Good advertising about the event at the game websites. The event is fun too but it should have more activities to play with. I came to this event alone. (My friend was busy at that time.) So I didn’t have something to do. The place where it took place is too small. So it’s very crowd especially when staffs playing SFIV with the visitors. They should move to the larger place with larger TV. The prizes are OK.

So people who miss this don’t be sad. It’s just the gamers meeting and small sweepstakes. Thanks play magazine for organizing this fun event for Thai gamers.
