Last time we’re at Akihabara and now it’s time to go to TOKYO SKYTREE that is the world’s highest broadcast tower.
Before the trip, I checked the train route from Akihabara to TOKYO SKYTREE at Hyperdia website. However the train routes it gives is quite confuse so I decided to ask the staff at the station instead. She told us to take the train to Kinshicho station then take the metro to Oshiage where it connects to TOKYO SKYTREE TOWN.
TOKYO SKYTREE TOWN is the name of the group of buildings around TOKYO SKYTREE. It consists of TOKYO SKYTREE EAST TOWER, Sumida Aquarium and TOKYO Solamachi which is the base of buildings. For figure fan, Good Smile Company office is on EAST TOWER.
We looked around at TOKYO Solamachi before go to TOKYO SKYTREE. The TOKYO Solamachi is the shopping, dining and entertainment complex. There are many brand stores here such as Onitsuka Tiger, Disney Store, Tokyo Banana , Hello Kitty, etc.
Many brand stores here usually have the special items that only sold here. In the picture is Hello Kitty mini backpack by Outdoor. Not related to the earlier sentence.
We reached the 4th floor of TOKYO Solamachi where we went outdoor to go to TOKYO SKYTREE.
One of TOKYO SKYTREE’s features is its decoration light scheme. It will change depend on seasons or special events. For this year cherry blossom season it use “Saki” scheme that all tower is white except the observation deck which is pink.
It will be switched with “Mai” scheme that the all tower is pink. The decorated light used in TOKYO SKYTREE is EVERLED from Panasonic. They are one of TOKYO SKYTREE sponsors.
To go to the observation deck. We need to buy the ticket at ticket center on the 4th floor. It costs 2,000 yen for adult. If you have the ticket, you have to wait for the elevator to TOKYO SKYTREE TEMBO DECK which is 350 meters from ground.
Inside elevator is pitch black but the decorated light will turn on several time. There is the display told the speed of elevator too.
Now we’re on the TEMBO DECK which is on 350th floor of TOKYO SKYTREE. The light inside is also pink for cherry blossom season. Due to the bad weather on that day we see nothing but the thick fog outside the window.
There is TOKYO SKYTREE information video screening and photo booth on this floor. Although you see nothing outside, people still are in queue for taking photo.
If you like to go to TOKYO SKYTREE TEMBO GALLERIA that is on the higher floor, you need to buy the ticket here. Since there is the low visibility notice, we didn’t go to it.
The replica of painting “Edo Hitomezu Byobu” is shown here. It inspires the commitee of the TOKYO SKYTREE location.
Nothing left to do on this floor. We went down to 345th floor where THE SKYTREE SHOP is on. THE SKYTREE SHOP is souvenir shop selling TOKYO SKYTREE related items.
There are 3 of them. One on 345th floor, 5th floor near the exit and 1st floor. However there are exclusive items which are sold at the 345th floor shop only. You can see the star sign on them.
We continued going down to 340th floor where SKYTREE CAFE is on. We weren’t hungry at that time so we passed.
One is GLASS BOTTOM where you can see the bottom of TOKYO SKYTREE.
The other one is GLASS FLOOR which we can stand on it. It’s very frighten to stand on it although I saw nothing but the fog.
Nothing left to do here. It’s time to take the elevator to the bottom.
If you see the staffs, you will see they wear different uniforms based on their duties. The design is very cute.
Elevator brought us to the 5th floor where another SKYTREE SHOP is on. This shop is larger and has more items than the one above.
The Saiyan girl you see in the poster is Sorakara-chan who is the mascot of TOKYO SKYTREE and her friends Teppen-Pen and Sikoburu-Buru.
Now it’s time to go back to the hotel. It seems that we have to take many trains when I checked the route with Hyperdia. However the staff told me that there is the Keisei express train that go to Haneda Airport passes Shinagawa station. We’re afraid that it may not pass the station. Luckily it passed.
Now we have to find the place for the dinner. I remember there is the ramen theme park near station called “Shinatatsu Ramen”.
There are many ramen shop inside. We chose Moukotanmen Nakamoto which is expertise in tanmen or Tokyo style ramen.
Most of their dishes are spicy. Range from level 3 to 10.
Although it’s quite late on that the day. The shop is full of salary men inside. The guy in the picture is the head chef of this shop.
To order the menu here. You need to buy the ticket at vendor machine then give the ticket to the waiter. All buttons are written in Japanese and only their popular menus have their pictures on the buttons. So we can’t order other menus or add some ingredients into you tanmen since we can’t read them.
There are many famous people visit this shop. It also features on the famous TV program.
We tried out Mizo Tanmen which has spicy level 3. The soup is hot from black pepper. We don’t like this because is has nothing except noodle and fried vegetable.
Another dish we try out is Gomokumouko Tanmen which has spicy level 6. It’s stewed beef tanmen. It has a lot of ingredients : stewed beef, fried vegetable, collagen, boiled egg. The soup is more hot and spicy than above dish. Spicy lover will love it for sure however the noodle here is quite hard. May not be like by other people.
After we finished our dinner. We went to find some dessert at nearby 7-11. I saw the shelf that hang the Nintendo 3DS download games and many point cards for mobile gaming platforms. I bought iTunes gift card on the last day of the trip because I want to buy the single that only available on iTune Japan store.
That night dessert is Häagen-Daz green tea flavor and LOTTE moji ice-cream. This is the first time I eat Häagen-Daz ice-cream because it’s very expensive in my country.
Next time I will write about my trip at Tokyo Disneyland. Please look forward to it.
